About Us

Once upon a time, an English page was born in Jame-Jam newspaper in Iran. It was published on a weekly basis, and was devoted to those who know English, Learn English or love English! In fact, the whole idea was made by a couple of members of the BAYAN Iran Association who were fond of English education.

It’d be good to mention that the B.I.A. is an NGO which works on different fields of linguistics and language studies. So, the members thought it would be a great idea to create a page where language learners can read stuff which do not have those strict formal journalistic structure! moreover, they decided the Iranian learners have the right to read contents related to their own culture, society and life all in English; all written by people like themselves.

Finally, in November 2005 (Aban 1384) the page was born and named as: Gazette. To be honest, the way it was welcomed by the readers from all around the country was not only a surprise for the other staff of the newspaper, but also for all of us, the providers of the page! The page made a lot of friends and pen pals throughout the country and found its way through their hearts and minds and pens.

After about a year and half, the newspaper decided it wouldn’t like to host the young page any more! Therefore, the Gazette stopped being published.

Now… Here it is!

During all these years, no moment was passed without the thought of giving the Gazette a new birth. now, after years of efforts, the young Gazette has grown up into a mature, independent web site which hopes to serve its friends more than ever before.

Now, we have the honor to proudly introduce you the electronic version of our English magazine: The Gazette. Well, The gazette will be published monthly with a lot of different types of contents you will find nice to read.
